Area
- The number of square units contained (inside) in a two dimensional shape.
- Area is the surface space takes up
Area of square or rectangle
- Length * width = area
- L * W = area= 18 cm Area = L* W
Area = 6*3
= 18cm Squared
Parallelogram
- A 4 sided figure with opposite sides parallel and equal.
Lines are hashmarks that are equal
Arrows are parallel to each other
base
- A side of a two dimentional closed figure (shape) (b)
A base is any side of a closed figure.
Height
- the perpendicular distance from the base to the opposite side.
(h)
Area of parallelogram formula
A=b*h
Base (b) is 5 cm and height (h) 3 cm. Plug these values into the formula.
A=b*h
A=5*3
A=15 cm squared
Find the area of this parallelogram:
A=b*h
Area=2*8
A=16 cm squared
Find the area of this parallelogram:
A=b*h
A=12*4
A=48 m squared
Homework:
Ishaka's Garden
What is the shape of the garden?
What is the area of the garden?
Ishaka is going to plant flowers in his garden.
He is going to plant per square metre.
How many flowers does he need to buy?

Sorry some of the words got messed up. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I think you could put it all closer together so it could take up less space. It looks like you went to paint for the pictures, cool.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Paul! I loved how you put pictures and a video but next time don't put such a big space in between because its hard to see all of it at once! Everything else was awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Paul! The pictures that you did to show what the areas look like are pretty good and I liked how you changed the font and the font color. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Paul!The pictures are graet and really helped me for studying.One tip,next time you shouldn't leave such a big space between it. Good Job!!

ReplyDeleteExcellent post Paul! This really helps me since I wasn't at school today. Next time, try not to leave a big space. Overall, it was a good post
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments i'll try to remember not to put too much space on it and thanks again!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pst paul! I like all the pictures you put. I also like how you changed the color of the font. Great post.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post Paul!
ReplyDeleteI love how you drew your own pictures it's really cool. I like your video and link. It was really helpful to me. But you could have made all the printing the same size because it is harder to read if it is BIG small BIG small BIG small see what i mean. and also some of it is two small so i would go with the printing were it says "base(b)is 5cm and height(h)3cm. Plug these values into the formula" get it it is the perfect size. Also i like how you changed the colors of height, base, and parallelogram that was smart so we know what the topic is. but i don't really like how you put the words on the side it is more confusing that way. also you should have put the homework before you started and not with your notes. But overall great post and once again it's great how you drew your own picture it's very good because i have never seen that (even though i have only seen them since like late September)it's really cool. Great Job!
Nice post Paul!and i like how you drew your own pictures and thanks for putting up the homework because i didnt finish copying the 1st one and everything else was great but next time dont put too much space.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Paul. I like how you changed the colour of the important words and how you drew your own pictures. Next time, try not to leave so much space.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post Paul!!! I really liked how you drew all your own pictures. That takes a lot of work. Next time I think you should change the color of the font for the important words. Otherwise, GREAT POST!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteGood job Paul! your post was very good. Next time you might want to make the font smaller. You also should have made some fonts a different colour. But everything else was good.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Paul, I like how you drew your own pictures on paint! But next time you shouldn't use so much space, but besides that Great Job!
ReplyDeleteNice post Paul! I realy like your pictures they were realy helpful. Next time it would help if you made the font size a little smaller, but besides that it was a great post!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Paul, the pictures were very helpful,even though you had to draw them yourself. I think the font size for the definition of area was a little too big,but other than that this post was done fairly well.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job Paul, I like the pictures and the video you used,, this will help me to study for any test we have on this. Next time you do the post make sure that there is no space in your work. The over all work was very good.Great Job!
ReplyDeleteVery good post Paul,I liked your pictures it sure is helpful and your video also helps.But I hope next time you do it you could make some of letters smaller because the font was kind the big.Other then that nice post!
ReplyDeleteAwesome post Paul! I really liked the website. I think that if you did not understand how to get the area of a figure than that site would help you a lot. But I think the video was more about how to get the area of a 3 dimensional shape instead of a two dimensional one. But other than that great work!
ReplyDeleteNice post Paul. I really like the pictures you drew. It's cool that you made your own pictures. This will really help someone who doesn't know anything about areas. I also like your video and the link you gave us. Next time don't make the font so big, but other than that, really great job.
ReplyDeleteGood job Paul! The pictures you drew looks great. Your fonts and colours looks fantastic. Nice video and link by the way. I also have to agree with everyone else about using too much space. Next time try not using too much space.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Paul! I liked how you drew pictures on paint and also how you highlighted important words, it really stands out. But next time, don't put too much space. Everything else is good!
ReplyDeleteGood job.
I like your post Paul, I like how you made the pictures. I also liked how you made some titles stand out. And next time, try to make the font the around the same size.
